"Yoga and Goal of Human Life"

Humans come to this earth for a very short span. And within this short span they are to do so many duties. When the span is short, not a moment should be wasted. And it is desirable that they know their goal and the path from the very beginning of their life. One must not wait for old age. That is, one should know the correct path, one should know the correct destination or desideratum, from an early stage of one's life. But what is the goal, and what is the path? -- that is the question.

Eternal Philosophical Questions

The answers given here are by necessity short. They scratch the surface of a profound and complex issue. The readers are encouraged to refer to works of Shrii Shrii Anandamurtijii for elaboration of different concepts.

Q 1: What Is?

Exercise for eyes

During a recent visit to an optician, one of my friends was told of an exercise for the eyes by a specialist doctor that he termed as 20-20-20.

'It is apt for all of us, who spend long hours at our desks, looking at the computer screen.
I Thought I'd share it with you. 20-20-20

Step I :

After every 20 minutes of looking into the computer screen, turn your head and try to look at any object placed at least 20 feet away.

This changes the focal length of your eyes, a must-do for the tired eyes.

Step II :

Sentient Diet- a must for healthy sperms

Folate 'may keep sperm healthy'

A diet rich in the vitamin folate may protect men against producing abnormal sperm and children with genetic abnormalities, a study suggests.

Patainjali Yoga Sutras in Chinese by Keshava; A Book Review

This is one of the first books written by a member of AMAYE on a sutra-by-sutra explanantion of Patainjali's Yoga Sutram. Ac. Candreshvaranandaji has been kind to offer his assistance to Keshava in this venture. We hope that the book will be translated into English also for wider audience. It appears that the commentary has been written in light of Ananda Sutram. The book is available from Ananda Marga Publications in Taiwan.

Role of a Single Neuron: A Comment

Recently, the research has shown that a single neuron has a function. Ofcourse , it does. It always has. That is why, meditation is expected to control every thought so that we can begin to explore the powers of all neurons.

A Research reported in Nature Magazine and also reported by BBC shows that a single brain cell has independent power

On Shukra

Shukra has sometimes been translated as Semen or Sperm or Spermatozoa which is found only in men. Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiiji clarifies that Shukra is a special tissue(dha'tu) and the final product of what we eat. What we eat gets transformed into chyle, blood, flesh, fat, bones, marrow and shukra. At each stage there are waste products. In the end, we get the cream of the cream- the shukra. Shukra can be further understood as consisting of three stages:
1. Pra'narasa (Vital Fluid or Lymph)
2. Semen
3. Seminal Liquid.

Yoga in light of Ananda Marga Philosophy

Sixteen Specialties of AM Philosophy

1. Unitary Character of Supreme Consciousness. Call God by whatever name but It is ultimately the Supreme Consciousness manifested in different states such as Non-Attributional Consciousness, Ta’raka-Brahma and Attributional Consciousness. God is One but different names exist for different states of That Infinite Consciousness (Citishakti).

Vegetarianism

Scientists are still lagging behind in accepting the common sense. Now, they say that those with high IQs are likely to become vegetarians and not that vegetarians are likely to have high IQs. Furthermore, they still donot make a clear distinction between vegetarian and sentient diet. Also, vegetarian sometimes erroneously is said to include fish and eggs. Sentient diet is vegetarian without onions, garlic, mushrooms, eggs, fish . (More details are found in Ananda Marga carya Carya Part 3. Rajadhiraja Yogiis are encouraged to follow sentient diet and not just vegetarian diet.
