2010 Yoga Educators Conference

The Fourth Yoga Educators Conference will also take place in Ydrefors from July 18-22nd,2010. The tentative cost will be 125 euros. Preregistration deadline will be May 31,2010. The 2010 Conference will also coincide with the 20th Anniversary Events Schedule of Ananda Marga Gurukula. Events are also being planned globally in 2010 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Ananda Marga Gurukula.

The Third annual YEC (Yoga Educators Conference) took place place in Ydrefors from July 14-19th,2009.The program kicked off with a special presentation by Dr. Dhanjoo Ghista on "The Science of Sahaja yoga". It was followed by a very illuminating talk by Dr. Shatatman on "Mudras, Bandhas and Vedhas". Dr.Madhuvanii from Portugal gave an inspiring,informative and an illuminating presentation on Yogic Medicine. The practical yoga class was led by Bro. Kamaleshvar who is an expert in teaching yoga to all ages including children. Taraka- a young boy was used as a model to share the dynamics of teaching to children.

The arrival was July 14th,2009 and departure on July 19th,2009. Cost is 95 euros only. Special topics for this year will include: Yoga & Meditation for Teenagers, Case Studies in Yoga Therapy; Tantra through the Ages & Tantric History of Tibet, Special effects of Kaoshikii and Tandava;and a lot more.This event will be followed by Gurukula Faculty Meetings: Theme: "Furthering Insights into The Thoughts of Shrii P.R.Sarkar".

A Report from previous Conference

Yoga Educators Conference July 20-25th,2008 Ydrefors, Sweden concluded last year with much sweet fanfare. About 75 experienced yogiis attended the six-day conference in 2008. Some key note speakers and workshop leaders included: Dr. Shantatman ,Bhavesh, Didi Ananda Ragamaya, Kamaleshvar, Trond Overland, Ac. Vishvamitra (Sid Jordan); Dada Vishvarupananda, Ramesh Bjonnes, Manotosh and others.

About Speakers

* Bhavesh is a musician and has been practising meditation for over thirty years.His academic degrees include a doctorate in clinical psychology (including coursework in the MBA program) from Temple University, a masters degree in counseling from Santa Clara University, and a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Prior registration necessary for securing a place in the workshop.

* Dr. Shantatman is a medical doctor based in Helsinki, Finland. He has been lecturing all over Europe on topics spanning the fields of science, medicine and spirituality.

* Trond Overland is a psycho-synthesis consultant and practitioner. He is the author of twoi books on Psycho-synthesis and a pioneer in integrating psycho-synthesis and yoga philosophy as a basis for science of mindology.

* Kamaleshvar is the naturopath doctor and author of famous work on "Shukra". He is the author of many books in Italian and he will be speaking on "Pranayama" at the coming YEC.

* Ramesh Bjonnes is the author of forthcoming book on "Tantra & Yoga-an historical account". He has written extensively on the history of Yoga and Tantra.

* Dr. Sid Jordan is a housholder acarya of Ananda Marga and holds Ph.D. in Psychology. He is the current President of Ananda Marga Gurukula Inc. In USA and founder of Prama Institute located near Asheville, North Carolina.

* Ac. Vishvarupananda Avt. is a well known globe-trotter yoga teacher based in USA. He is also the global coordinator of relief agency AMURT.He is also the Varga Pratinidhii of Ananda marga Gurukula.

* Ac. Shankarsanananda Avt is the head of Yoga Teachers Academy at Singapore and Vidya Pratinidhii of Yoga Faculty of Ananda Marga Gurukula.

* Didi Ananda Ragamaya is based in Jamaica and one of the most reputed yoga trainers.

* Manotosh is based in Oslo, Norway and a specialist in Patainjali Yoga Sutras. *
