First Global Yoga Educators Conference (2007) - A Report

The First Global Ananda Marga Yoga Educators Conference was held in Ydrefors, Sweden from July 20-25th,2007. Highlights included an eloquent presentation of Bro.Jinanendra (Ydrefors) on “Yoga through the Ages”; Dr. Shantatman (Finland) on Cakras and Emotions and a practical workshop on yoga postures and how they effect the human body. Art workshop created a mural on Yoga history. Bro. Devajinana talked on Subtle Anatomy of Yoga as presented in Rajadhiraja Yoga. Dr.Pashupati Steve Landau gave an illuminating and entertaining talk on the Yoga in light of Western Medicine. Punam Sah Fischer & Shivanii led very relaxing yoga sessions in the early morning. Prabhakar from Oslo gave a very popular experiential workshop on Yogic Psycho-Therapy. Bro. Kamaleshvar also won everyone’s hearts by his eloquent scientific & entertaining presentation on the Role of Shukra in Yoga-Practices.He filled the conference hall with knowledge and laughters. He ended with a comprehensive introduction to Yoga Therapy from a Naturopath perspective. Krsnadeva led a hands-on session on Accupressure points and Sis. Aradhana and Bro. Purusottama led a workshop on Yogic Dances and 16 points. Ac. Krsnasevananda showed how meditation classes can be conducted in order to prepare persons for initiation in Ananda Marga Sa’dhana’s.

Among the participants are famous yoga educators like Shivanii (Germany), Kailash(Berlin), Dada Divyalokeshananda (Germany), Dada Shankarsanananda(Singapore), Dada Krsnasevananda, Didi Ananda Shivanii (Singapore), Didi Devanishta (Malaysia), Liila( Taipei), Punam & Sukanta(Switzerland), Ashok (Austria), Supriya(England), Nirmal(Norway), Kamaleshvar (Italia), Prabhakar(Oslo) and many many more.

Following countries were represented at the conference:

Russia,France,Sweden,Norway,Germany,USA,Netherlands,Finland, Iceland, UK,Italia,Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan(Republic of China),Australia,Argentina.

Tantric Kitchen - a new cook book and a booklet on Yoga Dances were released on the first day of the conference from the Training Centre in Ydrefors.

The participants felt rejuvenated by the interesting programs and satsaunga.
