AMGK Standards for Yoga Education
## Purpose of these Standards:
* To spell out commonly agreed level of training and skill in yoga education that would be required in order to be approved as a bonafide AM Yoga Instructor or Ra’ja’dhira’ja Yoga Instructor (RRYI).
* To provide scope to all new yoga educators to determine the standard to which they must come to par in order to be recognized as a bonafide AM Yoga Instructor.
* To improve the quality of our yoga services offered to local communities.
* To pave the way for international recognition via our own internal accreditation agency viz. AMGK
* To preserve the sanctity of our Marga Guru’s directives concerning yogic path.
## Part 1 -- Standards for Yoga Educators
Two levels of Standards:
* Basic Instructor level (Basic)
* Teacher Trainer Level ( Advanced)
Areas of Yoga Standards
1. Proper Understanding of Cult and Philosophy of RRY/Tantra Yoga in light of Comparative Literature
2. Role of Ac’arya(s) i.e., Yoga-Meditation Teachers of A'nanda Ma'rga
3. Basic Training in Anatomy, Physiology & Bio-Psychology
4. Knowledge of benefits & contra-indications of different practices
5. Reasonable knowledge & Assimilation of all basic yogic classic texts & concepts
6. Prescribed Conduct Rules for Yoga Practitioners
7. Skill in personal practice & demonstration ability
8. Ability to Communicate , Social Skills & Group Dynamics
9. Continuing Education and knowledge of contemporary research
10. Managerial know-how, Administrative, Public Relations , Financial & Legal
11. Personal and Professional Ethics for Yoga Teachers or Instructors
12. Assessment , Verification & Validation Procedures
## Part 2 -- Standards for Yoga Centers as a basis for accreditation
1. An approved curriculum that meets minimum standards and more;
2. Properly qualified teacher(s);
3. Proper facilities for training;
4. Requisite number of students;
5. Examination & assessment system;
6. Regular inspections system;
7. Supervising Ac’arya(s);
8. Membership of AMAYE;
9. Continuing education requirements;
10. Willingness to strictly adhere to specified code of conduct & professional ethics.
