"Yoga and Goal of Human Life"

Author:
Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiiji

Discourse delivered by Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiiji on the occasion of Dharma Maha Cakra in Reykjavik, Iceland Sept 18, 1969
Humans come to this earth for a very short span. And within this short span they are to do so many duties. When the span is short, not a moment should be wasted. And it is desirable that they know their goal and the path from the very beginning of their life. One must not wait for old age. That is, one should know the correct path, one should know the correct destination or desideratum, from an early stage of one's life. But what is the goal, and what is the path? -- that is the question.

During a recent visit to an optician, one of my friends was told of an exercise for the eyes by a specialist doctor that he termed as 20-20-20.

'It is apt for all of us, who spend long hours at our desks, looking at the computer screen. I Thought I'd share it with you. 20-20-20

Step I :

After every 20 minutes of looking into the computer screen, turn your head and try to look at any object placed at least 20 feet away.

This changes the focal length of your eyes, a must-do for the tired eyes.

Step II :

AMAYE Report
Notes:
For detailed talk on "Shukra and Asanas" by Kamaleshvar, consult his DVD.
Shukra has sometimes been translated as Semen or Sperm or Spermatozoa which is found only in men. Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiiji clarifies that Shukra is a special tissue(dha'tu) and the final product of what we eat. What we eat gets transformed into chyle, blood, flesh, fat, bones, marrow and shukra. At each stage there are waste products. In the end, we get the cream of the cream- the shukra. Shukra can be further understood as consisting of three stages: 1. Pra'narasa (Vital Fluid or Lymph) 2. Semen 3. Seminal Liquid.

Vegetarianism

Author:
On A BBC Report
Scientists are still lagging behind in accepting the common sense. Now, they say that those with high IQs are likely to become vegetarians and not that vegetarians are likely to have high IQs. Furthermore, they still donot make a clear distinction between vegetarian and sentient diet. Also, vegetarian sometimes erroneously is said to include fish and eggs. Sentient diet is vegetarian without onions, garlic, mushrooms, eggs, fish . (More details are found in Ananda Marga carya Carya Part 3. Rajadhiraja Yogiis are encouraged to follow sentient diet and not just vegetarian diet.

The Process of Tantra

Author:
Ac. Pra'n'krs'na'nanda Avadhuta
In the science of Tantra Yoga there is always an emphasis on the three aspects of human existence‑‑physical desire, psychic urge and longing for the Great.

Tantra explains in clear language the functions of the body and mind, as well as the methods for their individual development. However, compartmentalized analysis is contrary to the spirit and practice of Tantra. There must be an understanding of how these three components work together, their relationship.

The Secret of Initiation

Author:
Ac. Pra'nkrs'na'nanda Avadhuta
At the time of initiation the student or disciple makes a solemn promise to do as much good as possible, to avoid harmful behavior and to maintain the confidentiality of the meditation process and mantra.

Doing good and postponing bad actions is quite understandable, but keeping the secrecy of the process of meditation is difficult for some to understand.
